Three-year training programme in our Accounting Services team commencing immediately
- Your first step towards a globally recognised financial qualification
- Gain first hand experience on the broadest range of clients
- Work in a supportive and friendly team in Newcastle city centre
UNW have an exciting opportunity for an AAT Apprentice to join our busy Accounting Services team in a successful and rapidly growing professional services firm.
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification is the perfect platform to launch your career in accounting, aiding your personal and professional development and enabling you to gain experiences that will stay with you throughout your working life.
Working towards your AAT Levels 3 and 4 qualifications, you will gain vital experience and work on a variety of projects across our Accounting Services department. At the end of the programme, you will have completed a Level 4 apprenticeship (Professional Accounting Technician).
The programme consists of first-class on-the-job training, coupled with both classroom-based training and remote learning with one of our chosen training providers in Newcastle upon Tyne (currently Kaplan and BPP).
Future Prospects
At the end of the three-year programme it is hoped that, in addition to gaining significant experience through day-to-day work at UNW, each student will have earned the AAT Levels 3 and 4 qualifications and would wish to progress to an advanced professional qualification to become a Chartered Accountant or Certified Accountant.
What’s involved?
Sometimes people think accountancy is all about spending hours with your head in a spreadsheet, but that is rarely the case. We have a real range of amazing clients at UNW – from those involved in music & the arts, to dentistry, energy, property, and so much more.
Sometimes our work involves asking clients for their financial data for the year and using that to pull together their annual financial statements. For other clients, we act like their own finance department and help them to run their organisation or company finances on a day-to-day basis.
What you’ll gain
As an apprentice in our Accounting Services team, you will gain useful insight into how a whole variety of businesses work, as well as building your own relationships with clients as you get to know them. It will open up your world and you’ll get to see right into the heart of the businesses and the people behind them. In essence, within three years you’ll be well on your way to becoming a fully-fledged qualified accountant. You’ll be earning money rather than paying university fees and you’ll be gaining experience of the working world and developing workplace skills that will give you a great head start in your career. If university isn’t for you then this is an excellent opportunity.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a covering letter and CV as well as you GCSE results and predicted A Level results to apprentice@unw.co.uk
