Audit In-Charge (Senior)

Salary: £ Competitive plus benefits
Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: Newcastle City Centre

The role at a glance

You will be the key point of contact on audit engagements for a wide variety of entrepreneurial clients across the region and beyond. You will lead the field work on client audit engagements, which includes planning, executing, and completing financial audits.

What you’ll be doing

  • Completing assigned audit testing in more complex areas;
  • Ensuring that high quality deliverables (audit working papers, accounts and board reports) are produced to required timescales;
  • Acting as the key point of contacts for the duration of on-site work and beyond;
  • Coordinating diaries throughout the audit engagement, including briefings, manager and partner reviews, clearance meetings and team debriefs;
  • Keeping the assigned manager and partner informed of progress and any issues encountered;
  • Coaching, guiding and supervising audit assistants;
  • Reviewing agreed non-significant risk areas of audit work undertaken by assistants;
  • Reviewing prospective audit adjustments and client report points raised by assistants;
  • Attending audit clearance meetings and preparing minutes for file.
