“I had always been interested in a career in finance, however, as I didn’t pursue Maths at A Level, I didn’t think this was an option for me. Having since spoken with two other apprentices from UNW, this appears to be a common misconception. There are many other important characteristics, such as analytical skills and being approachable, that are sought after in the industry.

“I decided I didn’t want to go to University after Sixth Form as although I loved studying, I wanted to earn and learn simultaneously. This is why the apprenticeship route particularly appealed to me. I am able to learn valuable skills and knowledge from very experienced people and complete my professional qualifications whilst earning at the same time.

“During my time at UNW, I have thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of work and the experience I have had the opportunity to gain. I have learnt a range of skills from many different colleagues so far, which has been a hugely positive part of my experience here. Furthermore, everyone at the firm is approachable and always willing to answer any questions I have. Everyone in the team feels valued and listened to and it’s this supportive environment that makes UNW such a unique place to work.

“Because of the encouragement I get from my colleagues and the friendships I have built; I really enjoy coming to work each day to further develop my career.”
