Session 1

Evolving Standards: Understanding changes in Financial Reporting

There are number of financial reporting changes on the horizon relating to company size thresholds, filing requirements and updates to Financial Reporting Standard 102 (“FRS 102”). The amendments to FRS 102, particularly with respect to revenue recognition and leases, can potentially cause significant changes in financial statements and can have a commercial effect on businesses e.g. covenant compliance, therefore early identification and planning for these changes is recommended. In our first session of the morning, members of UNW’s audit department will guide you through these key changes, outlining their impact and how best to manage the transition.

Session 2

Sustainability in Focus: Balancing Profit and Purpose

In today’s market, sustainability is no longer optional; it’s a key differentiator that can win or lose business. This panel discussion brings together experts from academia, finance, and business to discuss how ESG considerations are influencing the future of business and offer practical tips on how to integrate them.

Session 3

Cyber Resilience: Prepare to Fail

As cyber risks continue to evolve, businesses need to ensure their defences are up to date, but must also be prepared for the possibility of failure. Mark Dennis from specialist consultancy Evolve North will share real-life examples of cyber incidents and offer practical advice on how to strengthen your organisation’s security and resilience.
