Join us for our latest Charity Briefing.
Date: Thursday 20th November 2025
Timings: Registration from 9:30am for 10:00am start/closing at
11:00am (approx.)
Venue: UNW, Citygate, St James’ Boulevard, Newcastle upon
Tyne, NE1 4JE
Join us as we run through the key changes in the new Charity SORP (‘Statement of Recommended Practice’), which takes effect for accounting periods starting on or after 1 January 2026.
Changes will include amendments to FRS102 relating to lease accounting and income recognition, as well as some further amendments proposed in the SORP consultation draft which was published in the spring.
As we are still eagerly awaiting the final version (to be published “Autumn”), we can’t be too specific at this point but the expectation is that amendments to the Trustees Report requirements for some sizes of charities will include sustainability reporting, more details on the use of volunteers, impact reporting and more detail on legacy recognition, with the requirement to produce a cash flow statement also subject to change.
As time is of the essence, we didn’t want to wait until we had the final SORP to organise this event, so please keep everything crossed and come along on 20th November. At worst, there will be mince pies and we will talk about what was proposed in the consultation, but hopefully it will be more concrete by then!
